IN STUDIO - MICHAEL C. THORPE
This week Nike and House of Hoops profiled Michael C. Thorpe. The NYC based artist created two original works of art to celebrate the NBA’s 75th Anniversary. One work inspired by the leagues first 75 years and the other by what could come in the next 75. Creative and curation by Studio Franchise.

IN CARTS

We recently received our copy of David Hammons Basketball & Kool-Aid published by Nahmad Contemporary. The book was published in conjunction with the exhibition that showed earlier this year at the gallery. Fans of Hammons should also check out Spike Magazine #4 from earlier this year for their profile on Hammons and a number of other excellent features in their Sports issue.

IN CUPS - TSCHIDA BRUTAL

We enjoyed a bottle of Brutal this weekend at Bacetti’s opening night, both are highly recommended. Brutal 2020 has a slight fizz at the beginning like many of Christian Tschida‘s wines. It will probably disappear with ageing, though. The short maceration on the skins granted this wine the beautiful bright color as well as an elegant, complex style. Liquorice, violets and blackberries in the nose, raspberry and minerality on the palate.
