THIS EVENING WE’RE EXCITED TO ATTEND THE OPENING FOR SYD MEAD PROGRESSIONS: Laguna College of Art + Design's BFA program in Entertainment Design is proud to present Syd Mead / Progressions. This exhibition contains a retrospective of more than 50 years of artwork by Syd Mead.
The art featured in this exhibition demonstrates his ability to take the concepts of today and translate them into believable and practical visions of the future. This unique talent earned him the title of “Visual Futurist.”
Works include drawings, color preliminaries, and finished paintings that capture everything from conceptual terrestrial and extraterrestrial vehicles, to interplanetary resort destinations. Attendees will get a glimpse into his thought process, unique approach, and detailed technique as he moves from idea to perfect visual execution in his finished pieces of artwork.
